Thandolwam Sagela is a 20-year-old South African who was born and raised in the East of Johannesburg. She attended Cyrildene Primary School and later moved to Athlone Girls High School. Currently she is completing her tertiary education at AFDA, The South African School Of Motion Picture Medium And Live Performance. Thandolwam discovered her passion for performing at the age of 12 when she joined the drama club at school. In high school she excelled in Dramatic Arts and was one of the top students in her class. She achieved distinctions in Drama and other subjects which helped gain admission to AFDA to further pursue her dreams. For Thandolwam, performance is not just a means of storytelling, but also a way to gain a deeper understanding of how the world works and how individuals navigate daily challenges. In her free time she enjoys writing poetry, listening to music, watching films and plays, and spending time with her loved ones. Her aspirations extend beyond acting as she has hope to become a script writer. Thandolwam believes that through her storytelling, she can shed light on important stories that often go unnoticed and positively affect people’s lives.
