Meet Our Actor:

Amos Ketlele

Born in the dusty streets of Soweto where anything is possible. my family and I resided next to a hostel’ where various migrant workers lived. Over the weekends i feasted over the colorful performances they use to give. I could not escape not to be inspired by these spirited performances. Soon my friends and I found ourselves practicing. We began busking as gumboot dancers. Unaware that seed of passion was being nurtured. We then went on to establish a youth club. Ellington Mazibuko became our teacher in tap, ballet, and contemporary dance. Ellington then introduced me to a dance academy where my journey into the world of dance truly began. I learnt from great teachers such as Michael Fischer; Adel Blank and Sandra Rosenberg. 1987 saw me perform in my first musical piece “the great worlds”. Then moved onto perform in king Africa; Ipi Ntombi; Mary widow, West side story & Jesus Christ superstar and most recently Soweto story. Today I’m blessed to have performed on some of South Africa’s top stages and alongside phenomenal dancers. As a performer I was not limited to the stage I also branched into the TV industry and had the opportunity to act in some of our local soaps including generations; Isidingo and Zero tolerance. As long as my feet keep tapping, the sky is the limit!
